2 Day Workshop - Thursday 9th 7 Friday 10th July

Discover the secrets behind creating this colourful Brazilian bouquet of twists and turns.  Brazilian embroidery is highly textured defined by the specific use of high sheen rayon threads. It becomes dimensional embroidery through the use of stitches like bullion and cast-on.

In this Brazilian embroidery stitches are used in a fresh, interesting way making flowers that stand off the surface (the berries aren’t knots they are a stitch). The Edmar threads in the flowers and metallic gold thread vase have a beautiful lustre, once you have tried them you will be addicted! Advance your embroidery skills by learning how to use rayon threads, experimenting with stitches and playing with a variety of different thread weights. The project is worked on ‘Trigger’ cloth, a tight weave fabric that can support the weight of heavily worked areas. The completed size measures 28cm x 35cm.

Skill level: Students need experience in Bullions and Cast-on Stitches
