Southern Pochard Ducks with Lesley Turpin-Delport from South Africa

This design was inspired by a stunning painting by Gail Durrel. These  delightful water birds live on the estuary and lakes in the Southern Cape. The duck and drake nestle into the reeds and sedge with a hint of distant mountains. This type of subject matter is ideal for the manipulation of textured threads, appliqué and clever free-style embroidery. The basic design will be silkscreened onto the fabric and the learning curve will include a dash of watercolour and beautiful painted silk reflections. The designs measures approximately 28cm x 22cm.

Skill Level: All embroiderers welcome
