2 Day Workshop - Saturday 4th & Sunday 5th July
Christine Thompson is an award winning milliner with over 20 years experience in Opera, Theatre and Musicals. Credits include operas, Carmen, Madame Butterfly, My Fair Lady, the film, Moulin Rouge and musicals, Dr Zhivago, Love Never Dies, A Funny Thing happened on the way to the Forum, Chitty Chitty Bang Bang, King Kong, Phantom of the Opera, The King and I, theatre, Rosencrantz and Guildenstern are Dead.
Learn how to block buckram with water and a hat block to make a small cocktail shape. This base is wonderful to mount a fantastic headpiece of sculpted contemporary crinoline and or sinamay.
Using traditional and new millinery techniques, participants are then shown how to create a spectacular wearable sculpture from either crinoline or sinamay or both. Further enhancements of feathers and veiling will make the perfect accessory for the races, cocktail parties or for the next special occasion.
