All That Glitters

While the primary focus of All That Glitters is Goldwork, the author’s passion for both Goldwork and Stumpwork is evident through the diverse range of projects featured. All That Glitters features sections on Basic Supplies and Requirements, Stitches and Techniques and Projects, ranging from dimensional framed pieces to functional items all with clear, easy to read instructions, illustrations and colour photographs. The embroidery world has enjoyed a remarkable renaissance in the last decade or so. This has spawned some extremely talented embroiderers and it is a fitting accolade to Alison Cole that her name should be included in a very select coterie of excellence. Her decision to write a book, which charts her own rise and achievements, shows a generosity of spirit that will ensure her wealth of knowledge and experience will always be a legacy to others.
